Conditions of application for free

  • Avignon and COGA school groups
  • People with 80% or more disabilities
  • Curators and guides
  • journalists
  • Avignonnais (all year, on presentation of proof of address, the identity card is not enough)
    • Palace of the Popes: every Sunday
    • The gardens of the Palace: every day
  • Young person enrolled in the COGA under the age of 18 (every day from September 1 to June 30 – on presentation of the school report)
  • Holders of the "Clé du Palais": free admission to the Palace, the Pont Saint Bénezet and the exhibitions presented at the Palais des Papes for one year from the date of purchase of the card, as many times as desired
  • Children under 8
  • Staff from sites belonging to professional groups to which the tourist office belongs (UDOTSI de Vaucluse) and to which the Palais des Papes and the Pont du Pont belong (Bienvenue en Provence): free membership card for 2 people, or invitation card for 1 person
  • Job seekers on presentation of the card (recent proof 6 months)
  • Accompanying people with disabilities of more than 80%: 1 free for the accompanying person
  • For everyone: during national cultural events with which the City has decided to join (eg Heritage Days)
  • Adult groups (from 20 pax) 1 free guide / Bus drivers
  • School groups: 1 free guide for 10 paying students / Bus drivers
  • ICOM/ICOMOS card holders (staff of national/international museums): free entry to the Palace and the Bridge

For any request for a reduced rate and/or free admission that does not correspond to the above conditions, visitors must send a written request to the management.

The Palais des Papes will therefore be exceptionally closed to visitors until 12 p.m., and access to pedestrian traffic on the square in front of the monument will be limited.
