The Avignon School of Art presents the fifth edition of the multifaceted and experimental event PasseMurailles from March 2nd to 13th, 2026. Exhibitions, lectures, performances, screenings: students question and reinvent the very modalities of exhibition. This year, ESAA students have undertaken the study and restoration of a model of the Palace of the Popes in 1450, created in the late 19th century by an infantry captain.
Following in the footsteps of the major exhibitions that have marked the Palais des Papes — from Picasso to Othoniel, via Sebastião Salgado, Yan Pei-Ming, Eva Jospin or Miss.Tic — the monument will host in 2026 a new major artistic proposal: that of Macha Makeïeff, who will take over the premises with an original creation, a reflection of her singular and very personal universe.
As part of the work to upgrade the exterior lighting of the Palais des Papes, visitors will enter via the wooden staircase located to the right of the monument. from March 2nd to 18th inclusive.
